Well, after a lovely week long trip to Melbourne with my sister, Stace, I feel refreshed and inspired and ready to go!!  Only trouble is, Life is kinda getting in the way of me getting on with all the things I really want to get on with!!
On a very exciting note though, I may, just Maaaaybe, jetting off with my parents and sister to South Africa and Zimbabwe next year!!  How VERY exciting.  It will all depend of course, on how we fare in the financial department until then!!!  Fingers crossed I can set the little elves to work especially hard!
Melbourne was, as usual, fantastic!  I really love that place - the food, the shopping, the culture, the Queen was there (we missed out on seeing her though!!) the Melbourne Cup festivities were on and we almost could have gotten a free domestic flight with Qantas!!  Ha ha!
My favourite thing was Red Door Yum Cha, just off Chapel Street.  O. My. God.  It was soooo yummy, I will never forget it!!
We attempted to go to the Trash and Treasure in Camberwell while we were there as we had decided that this trip was going to be all about second hand finds, but it got rained out and we ended up sitting in a cafe for breakfast and coffee.  Lucky we don't mind that sort of thing, so we had a lovely time.  We made our way back to Chapel Street, hopped off the train and walked up Greville Street and ran into a little pre-loved clothes market at which Stacey and I found some really cute things which more than made up for missing the Camberwell Markets!!
It is Spring in Australia and I must say, that both Stace and I REALLY suffered with hayfever the first couple of days we were there.  We bought some antihistamine tablets to begin with, but they did nothing, and so we had to move on to the big nose squirty stuff which I think tastes revolting!  Ewww!  But it was worth it, because it made the rest of the trip a lot more enjoyable as we didn't have to worry about our noses constantly running!
St Kilda was gorgeous and I did a fair bit of Christmas shopping down Acland Street and we then got a Baby Kugle on the way home - it was very good!

I have just finished my first Trio Paper Doll and listed her in my etsy shop.
I hope you find her very sweet and add her to your Christmas stocking filler list!!!

Ready for the Circus Set for Blythe

This week I have listed a little clown outfit.  There is an embroidered trench coat, a crocheted bowler hat and a corset set.  GONE.

I made the most of the last week of school holidays and finished it in less than a week, which is a big achievement for me!!  ha ha!!
I'm very sad the school holidays are over though - no more sleep-ins (not that we actually slept in ever, but just knowing the option was there was soooooo great!!) back to school lunch box packing, homework, school runs, before school activities, after school activities, weekend activities, playdates, etc etc!!!

Aaaanywaaay, my sister and I are going to Melbourne next week for a week.  Just us.  We have never gone to Melbourne in the Spring, so we are very excited.  I love Melbourne to death and if I had no family in Perth, I would be living there now!

We stay in Fitzroy, as that is our favourite shopping and eating spot!  And it's so pretty - we loooove all the graffiti, it's awesome!  This time round we are aiming to get to some second hand markets and I have been researching them.
There is an iphone app which lists heaps of different markets that are on in Victoria.  We just have to figure out which ones to pick and how to get there, as we won't have a car - so it's trams and buses for us!
Ooooooo, I'm so excited!!
I found this old flyer on the web and really liked it.  It's a pity that this market won't be on when we are there.  Such a great picture though!!

Well, after a very busy week, I have finished another crocheted top hat and trench set.
It seems to have taken ages again, but I have had so much other stuff to do, so maybe it hasn't taken as long as I think it has!

I did my third Bootcamp class on Tuesday morning after the school dropoff, and I have to say that I am still wondering when it is going to get easier - as in I'm not dreading the next class.  I do think that I will have to invest in some decent work out clothes though.

On another really sad note, we lost our pet love bird, Sunny, to a raven.  It was really awful and I got a little hysterical when I realized she was gone.  Poor little thing.  We hadn't had her for very long - my sister found her on her front lawn, badly injured.  We took her in and she got better and was a very happy little addition to our family, so it was just horrible that she was taken.

Anyway, back to the Blythe set I have just finished...

I love this set so much!  It's lovely and bright and lots of fun.  I went OTT on the top hat and think it looks really sweet!  Like Blythe is wearing a Spring garden on her head!
It will be available to buy in my Etsy Shop tomorrow after I get some more decent photos.
All the pieces will be listed separately.

I have just finished a set I have been working on for about three weeks now, and have listed it on the Bay!

The set consists of a Trench, Dress, Crocheted Top Hat and petticoat and socks.

I have thoroughly enjoyed creating this set and hope to do some more.  Time permitting of course!!   I hope someone out there thinks it is perfect for their favourite little Miss Blythe!

Trio Trenchie Collection One

I have just finished four new Trio Trenchies!
They all come with a pair of green socks, they all do up at the front with metal snaps and are lined with no exposed seams in the bodice.
There is a maroon corduroy one with a sweet flower print, a soft brown velvet pinstriped one, for the demure, sophisticated miss.  There is a fairytale one with a sweet prints on the skirt part and there is a retro style one in oranges and greens.

Home Sweeeeeet Home

Well I finally went out and bought a doll's house.  And where else but from Ikea!
I thought I would probably go an Expedit, however I ended up with two Traby units.  They are so much better for a doll's house I think.  The sections are changeable and bigger than the expedit.  It only comes in one colour, but the colour is quite noice and of course you can change it up a bit.  So I have been flickring blythe homes and there are some gorgeous little abodes out there.  People are so creative and clever and have way more taste than me!!!
So here are a couple of places which I think are absolutely divine.

The picture below is from  Megipupu ( ) on Flickr.

And this one is from Keera ( ) on flickr.

There are so many gorgeous homes for blythe out there.
This is my effort so far...still a way to go I know!!  But it is a lot of fun!!
